Louisiana Tech University College of Engineering and Science
invites applications for both tenure-track positions and non
tenure-track lecturer positions in the Computer Science Program.
Tenure
Track: Ability to initiate, build and sustain an externally
funded research program that effectively leverages the existing
research strengths of one of the College’s multidisciplinary
centers of excellence in grid computing applications, biomedical
applications, micromanufacturing and nanotechnology or trenchless
technology; Strong teaching skills; and Ability to supervise
masters and doctoral students.
Non-Tenure
Track: Demonstrate excellence in teaching at the university
level; and Passion to be a distinguished lecturer. His/her classes
should be characterized by the use of active learning strategies
and the appropriate use of technology.
Requirements
for either Track: Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely
related field; Excellent oral and written communication skills;
and Commitment to high quality professional service and active
participation in college responsibilities. Relevant industrial
experience, and/or entrepreneurial experience are advantages.
Applicants having teaching/research interests in traditional
or emerging areas of Computer Science are sought, with primary
undergraduate teaching needs lying in the areas of bioinformatics,
biologically-inspired computing, information technology, databases,
and parallel and distributed computing.
