Louisiana Tech University invites applications
for the Watson Endowed Chair and Faculty Positions in Bio-Nanotechnology
and Neural Engineering.
Louisiana Tech University offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D.
degrees in Biomedical Engineering, and a joint MD/PhD with
LSU Health Sciences Center/Shreveport. Special strengths:
an active, funded research programs in bio-nanotechnology
and neural engineering, a new 50,000 sq. ft. Biomedical
Engineering building (to be completed September 2006) fully
integrated with a state-of-the-art micro/nanosystems research/development
center (Institute for Micromanufacturing), a nationally
recognized clinical rehabilitation engineering program,
strong incentives for technology transfer, and a national
reputation in BME education. The successful candidates are
expected to actively participate in a multidisciplinary,

Watson Endowed Chair – Tenured academic appointment
with competitive salary and support from the College of
Engineering and Science and the $1M Watson Chair endowment.
The chair holder will provide leadership in multidisciplinary
research efforts. Qualifications include a distinguished
scholarship and research record in an appropriate specialty,
significant success in securing and managing research projects,
strong administrative and communication skills, a multidisciplinary
orientation, and an ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Must have earned doctorate in an appropriate engineering
or science field, and be a US citizen or permanent resident
.
Bio-nanotechnology and Neural Engineering Positions –
Candidates must have research and publication record in
Molecular Engineering, Cellular Modeling, Micro/Nanofluidics
Engineering, Drug Delivery, Instrumentation, and/or Devices.
Qualifications include an ability to initiate, build and
sustain a strong externally-funded research program, an
ability to supervise masters and doctoral students, excellent
written and oral communication skills, strong teaching skills,
commitment to professional service and desire to participate
in college responsibilities. Must have earned doctorate
in an appropriate engineering or science field.
