What is aviation management?
Aviation management combines flight training, management, and human factors course work to prepare graduates for managerial positions in the aviation industry. The department of Professional Aviation offers a four-year program leading to a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Aviation Management in tandem with pilot training and internships at airports. The department of Professional Aviation is accredited by the Council on Aviation Accreditation - one of only 20 in the nation to be so accredited.
Careers in aviation management
Aviation management graduates work in all management flight areas. The focus of this program is on flight operations management, and many graduates work in airport management. Graduates also work in flight operations related to government services, corporate flight management or general aviation. Aviation management graduates fulfill military obligations in various branches of the service. Some graduates enter the National Guard or Reserves.
High school and pre-preparation
Upon admission to the university, students can apply to the professional aviation program. Generally, students who have an overall, attempted GPA of 2.0 or higher are admitted.
