What is Business Administration?
Business Administration is an intensive study of business subjects (including numerous business elective opportunities), as well as the usual academic background in liberal arts and science. The Department of Economics and Finance offers a four-year program leading to a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Business Administration. The curriculum is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International).
Careers in Business Administration
Business Administration is ideal for students interested in a business career but who do not wish to specialize in a specific business field area. The program allows the student great flexibility in designing a program of study to meet specific career objectives. The Bachelor of Science degree prepares an individual for entry-level positions in a broad range of businesses and provides an excellent background for those planning advanced business degrees. Business Administration graduates are ideally suited to multipurpose roles in small businesses.
High school and pre-preparation
Upon admission to the university, students can apply to the College of Business degree programs. Generally, students who have an overall, attempted GPA of 2.0 or higher are admitted. Examples of high school courses that serve as a good foundation for college-level business courses include: Algebra I, II and III; Applied Math III; Business Computer Applications; Calculus; Comparable Advanced Math; Computer Science; Discrete Math; Pre-Calculus; Probability and Statistics.
