What is a Health and Physical Education - Teacher Certification?

This professional teacher preparation program is a carefully designed series of learning experiences that includes course work, clinical and field experiences and student teaching. Upon completion, graduates are certified to teach grades K-12 in Health and Physical Education.

Careers in Physical Education

In addition to positions as teachers of health and physical education in grades K-12, graduates are prepared for coaching positions at the elementary, junior high and high school levels.

High school and pre-preparation

Upon admission to the university, students are enrolled in Career and Basic Studies. They apply for admission to the College of Education after completing between 8 and 24 semester hours, depending on their GPA.
