What is a Kinesiology and Health Promotion-Health/Fitness Concentration?
Kinesiology/Health Promotion is the study of exercise within the context of exercise-related businesses, including community- and hospital-based fitness and wellness programs.
Careers in Physical Education
Graduates are prepared to work as exercise specialists and/or within management of community health/fitness programs, hospital health/fitness programs, and the sports industry. Many students in this field delay entry into their careers in order to pursue a graduate degree in exercise science or sports management.
What is a Kinesiology and Health Promotion-Clinical Concentration?
Kinesiology/health promotion is the study of exercise science within the context of hospitals, clinics and other institutions associated with medicine or rehabilitation.
Careers in Physical Education
Graduates are prepared to enter graduate programs in physical therapy, athletic training, or similar fields of clinical practice. Graduate programs in exercise science are also among the options.
High school and pre-preparation
Upon admission to the university, students are enrolled in Career and Basic Studies. They apply for admission to the College of Education after completing between 8 and 24 semester hours, depending on their GPA.
