The mission of the Center for Instructional Technology and Distance Learning (CITDL) is to provide timely and appropriate support in the development, maintenance, and application of information technology systems and distance learning methodologies to all university faculty. Through training, demonstrations, and technical assistance, the Center will provide activities, programs, and resources in an effort to assist faculty members in improving teaching and scholarship at the University. The Center is located on the 10th floor of Prescott Memorial Library in Wyly Tower.

The University has two Compressed Video Classrooms used for distance education. One is located in Woodard Hall 124 with a seating capacity of 27, and the other is located in Wyly Tower 1015 with a seating capacity of 25. Rooms must be reserved well in advance.

The Center also provides training on Blackboard, a user-friendly course management system located on a Louisiana Tech server. Faculty may use Blackboard to place their entire course online or simply enhance already existing courses.
