In accordance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Louisiana Tech University does not discriminate on the basis of sex in its education programs and activities.
Discrimination is inequitable treatment of an individual based on protected characteristics or status rather than individual merit. Examples include:
- denying or granting promotions other advancement opportunities based on an individual’s protected status;
- granting preference in education or employment based on an individual’s protected status;
- making work assignments based on an individual’s protected needs;
- denial of leave based on an individual’s protected status.
