Effective Fall 2005 In-State Admission Criteria
Applicants for freshman admission should meet ONE of the following requirements for admission:
1. Have an overall 2.50/4.00 grade point average or
2. Rank in the upper 25% of the graduation class or
3. Have a 23 composite ACT or 1060 SAT Verbal+Math (V+M)
All applicants must meet the following:
1. Have at least a composite ACT score of 15 or a SAT V+M score of 710.
2. Require no more than one remedial course.
3. Complete the Board of Regents high school core curriculum (TOPS).
4. Have at least a 2.00/4.00 grade point average.
Effective Fall 2005 Out-of-State Admission Criteria
Applicants for freshman admission should meet ONE of the following requirements for admission:
1. Have an overall 2.50/4.00 grade point average, have at least 23 composite ACT or 1060 SAT V+M, and no need for more than one remedial course. or
2. Have at least an ACT composite score of 26 or 1170 SAT V+M and no more than one remedial course. or
3. Meet the in-state student requirements above.
All applicants must meet the following:
1. Have at least a composite ACT score of 15 or a SAT V+M score of 710.
2. Have at least a 2.00/4.00 grade point average.
Effective Fall 2005 Home-School Admission Criteria
Applicants for freshman admission should meet ONE of the following requirements for admission:
1. Have an overall 2.50/4.00 grade point average and have at least 23 composite ACT or 1060 SAT V+M. or
2. Have at least an ACT composite score of 26 or 1170 SAT V+M and no more than one remedial course. or
3. Meet the in-state student requirements above.
All applicants must meet the following:
1. Have at least a composite ACT score of 15 or a SAT V+M score of 710.
2. Have at least a 2.00/4.00 grade point average.
All applicants are encouraged to apply. Louisiana Tech University may admit students not meeting all stated requirements. In such cases, the admission decision will be affected by the student's potential for degree completion and the need to enhance the university's demographically diverse student population. Some factors to be considered may include age, experience, ethnic background, and creative talent.
