Concurrent or Early Admissions

EARLY ADMISSION is for qualified high school students who wish to attend Louisiana Tech University full-time for the purpose of receiving their high school diploma based upon successful completion of 24 semester credit hours of college work. Qualifications are as follows:

  • A student must have maintained a "B" or better average on all work pursued during three years (six semesters) of high school;

  • A minimum ACT composite score of 25 or 1130 SAT V+M must be made and this score submitted to the university prior to June 1;

  • The student must be recommended by the high school principal.

Students successfully completing this program will effectively earn their high school diploma and college credit simultaneously.

A completed application for admission and recommendation form must be submitted to the Admissions Office no later than one month prior to the beginning of the quarter.


CONCURRENT ADMISSIONS is for qualified high school students who wish to attend Louisiana Tech University part-time while still enrolled in high school. Qualifications are as follows:

  • A student must have maintained a "B" or better average on all subjects taken during the previous two years;

  • A preferred ACT composite score of 22 or 1020 SAT V+M must be earned and submitted to the university. Students with less than a 22 ACT or 1020 SAT V+M, who meet the minimum University of Louisiana System criteria, will be evaluated individually by the university's Admission Decision Committee;

  • The student must be recommended by the high school principal.

The student may enroll in one university course per quarter. Upon admission to the university as a freshman, the credits earned in this program may be used to satisfy degree requirements. Forms for these programs can be obtained through the Admissions Office.

A completed application for admission and recommendation form must be submitted to the Admissions Office no later than one month prior to the beginning of the quarter.
