SGA...You Decide!
If you’re interested in leadership, Louisiana Tech University’s Student Government Association (SGA) is for you! The SGA is the governing body representing the students of Louisiana Tech. SGA consists of an Executive Branch—president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and cabinet, a Judicial Branch—the Supreme Court, and a Legislative Branch consisting of senators from all five colleges as well as each individual class.
As a freshman, you can become an SGA member by running for class president or one of four senator positions. Elections are held during the Fall quarter. If you prefer not to campaign or go through an election process, you can still be a part of SGA. You can be a member-at-large or join the Bulldog Corps, a group of freshmen leaders who promote school spirit.
Members of SGA represent the students on the administrative level by serving on a variety of committees such as technology, academic affairs, behavioral standards, and food services. SGA also offers loans to students in good academic standing with the university. SGA provides fax services, Scantrons, and even parking lots for the students. In the spring, SGA hosts “The Big Event,” a campus-wide community service project.
The SGA is behind the students of Louisiana Tech. We would love to have you join our team! Please visit our web site by clicking the link to your left.
