Orientation

Student Orientation

Orientation at Louisiana Tech University is designed to help the incoming freshman and their parents make a smooth transition from high school to college. Not only do you get to register for Fall classes, you get to meet many new people who are also attending Tech for the first time. We are excited that you are joining the “Tech Family” and we look forward to being of service to you and your family. The philosophy is simple, you should feel good about your decision to attend Louisiana Tech. It is important that you are excited, not nervous, about returning to your new home in the Fall. Orientation is a fast paced, high-energy program that will introduce you to all aspects of the University.

Here is what students from the summer had to say:

“I got to meet new people and enjoyed seeing what it’s like living on campus.”

“What I liked most about Orientation was the student leaders. They know how to have a good time.”

“I like the way I wasn’t treated like a freshman, but as another student just needing a little direction.”

“What I liked most about Orientation was the show (“Presents”) and dance.”

Parent Orientation

Parents, you play a vital role in your child’s decision to attend college as well.  Our Parents' Orientation Program will not only inform you of all that the Tech campus has to offer, but also help you with your student's transition.

Here is what parents had to comment:

“My daughter has been welcomed with open arms. Thank you! It makes the transition for both of us easier.”

“I left with a good feeling that my son’s education would be enhanced by the caring people on this campus. We are looking forward to him being a student at Tech.”

“This program makes me proud to be an alumnus of Tech.”
