Your College Track:
College. It's finally here. Louisiana Tech wants you to get an early start. Our summer programs help you fulfill general freshmen education requirements before the official start of the new academic year in September. Our courses prepare you for the rigors of academia in a college classroom. They also provide a firsthand glimpse into the future of your college experience.
Take the classes you've loved throughout high school - history, physics or statistics - or try something new: "Introduction to Medical Terminology," "Introduction to Animal Science" or "Dance Appreciation." College is a time for you to explore your interests, all of them.
After class, meet up with new friends and head for Tolliver Hall, home to campus eateries that dish up pizza, tacos, and pastries. Or, follow your inner adventurer to downtown Ruston, where you can check out more than 40 retail shops and 27 local restaurants. Later, hit the treadmill at the Maxie Lambright Intramural Sports Center, Tech's sports complex that boasts state-of-the-art aerobic and weight-training equipment. Your student ID opens doors for you at Tech, everywhere from the M.S. Carroll Natatorium (Tech's pool) to the Prescott Memorial Library. Best of all, scholarships are available. You have the opportunity to live on campus with other students, and you could receive a scholarship.
Eligibility:
Louisiana Tech offers two types of programs:
Summer Scholars – Graduating seniors with a 23 or higher ACT composite score and who also meet the university’s freshman admission requirements.
Summer Enrichment at Tech (SET) - Students between their junior and senior years in high school with a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher. (Transcripts must be submitted for an evaluation). At the end of the summer term, students in this program can decide whether they want their grade(s) placed on their college transcripts.
What’s offered?
