Welcome to the Advising and Retention home page! The Office of Advising and Retention was created in July of 2004 to better serve the needs of students, faculty, and staff in the area of advising and in areas that affect the student in his or her ability to persist in obtaining a college degree.

One of the important first steps for this office is to provide you with the relevant information that you need. This web site is one way that we will be giving that information to you. Initially, we have posted the newly revised Advisor Handbook containing valuable information for you who are involved in advising students in their chosen majors. It begins to give advisors the information that you need to assist students in course scheduling, as well as to give advice on where students can find information in areas where the academic advisor may not be knowledgeable. We especially hope that faculty and staff find it to be a useful tool in teaching students through the advising process to be more independent and self sufficient.
Be patient with us as we grow! We plan for this site to expand and become a more valuable resource for each of you.
