Agricultural Sciences: Programs of Study: B.S. in Agricultural Business
The Agricultural Business Curriculum provides a base of knowledge and training which supports career opportunities that require a fundamental knowledge of both business and agriculture. The following concentrations are offered to give the student maximum flexibility in pursuing educational and career goals: Business; Landscape & Turf Management; and Crop Science & Management.

The Business Concentration focuses on applied agricultural production, processing, financing, and marketing functions, as well as corporate business principles. The concentration features a built-in minor in Business Administration from the College of Administration and Business plus 21 hours of directed electives that allow the student to specialize in areas of agriculture or business that are consistent with career goals.

The Landscape & Turf Management Concentration includes a built-in minor in Plant Science and is designed for students who are interested in careers in such fields as Golf Course or Public Garden Maintenance, Landscape Contracting, Nursery and Greenhouse Operations, Ornamental Plant Production, Sports Turf Management or Irrigation Technology. Practical applications, combined with up-to-date course materials, provide students with excellent preparation for either professional or graduate school opportunities.

The Crop Science & Management Concentration includes a minor in Plant Science and prepares the student for career opportunities in such fields as Farm Operations, Pasture Management, Soil and Crop Science, Agricultural Extension, or Research Technology. Classroom instruction, laboratory demonstrations, and hands-on experiences provide a strong foundation for career opportunities, including graduate school and agribusiness professions.

A variety of laboratories provides opportunities for students to learn. Lomax Hall houses a 5,000 square foot conservatory, including approximately 25,000 square feet of glass and aluminum greenhouse space, and additional laboratory teaching facilities. Six additional greenhouses, a vegetable garden, a landscape display garden, an arboretum, turf plots, and agronomy field plots provide additional experiences.
