Graduate Study in Environmental Science: Introduction

Graduate Study in Environmental Science within the Biology M.S.: Introduction

Louisiana Tech University's M.S. program in Biology provides a variety of research opportunities for students interested in Environmental Science.  Our faculty research topics including extinctions, environmental philosophy, gene expression in response to nanoparticle exposure, environmental law, vertebrate ecology and conservation, toxicology, remediation of oil-and gasoline-contaminated sites, the mathematical modeling of biological systems, and environmental science and biology education.

The other links on this webpage will allow you to learn about Louisiana Tech University, its Biology M.S. program and faculty, and the city of Ruston, where Louisiana Tech is located.  Buy you might want to consider taking the opportunity to see the University, the program, and the city for yourself.  Meeting and talking to the students and faculty you meet once you arrive will give you a chance to get a better feel for the place.

If you do decide to visit Louisiana Tech, please try to e-mail me at least 1-2 weeks beforehand.  If I know your're coming, I'll be better able to schedule time to meet with you and, if you like, arrange visits to classes or meetings with faculty.  You might also wish to directly contact those faculty members whose research or teaching interests you.

Best wishes,

Dr. Jeff Yule, Environmental Science Program Director
