FFA Invitation Soils Judging Contest
High School FFA students participating in the Invitational Soils Judging Contest held at Louisiana Tech on November 1, 2007. This is a practice contest held each year for the students to prepare for the state contest. Students evaluate soil texture and other soil features such as drainage.
Current Grant Funding
Hillard, J.B., C.W. Winstead, and W. Russell. Rejuvenation of Compacted Pastures and Turfgrass. Louisiana Board of Regents Enhancement Grant. June, 2007 - June, 2009. $16,072. Funds appropriated to for research project designed to study whether soil compaction in pastures and turfgrass can be ameliorated using a specialty designed soilsoiler.
