Forestry: Student Organizations
Student Chapter, Society of American Foresters
The Student Chapter of the Society of American Foresters at Louisiana Tech University is a great way for students to learn about forestry, get active in the forestry field, and interact with professionals. Student SAF members are professionally enriched while attending meetings of the North Louisiana SAF, State SAF, and National SAF. Members of the Society of American Foresters receive many benefits, including the Journal of Forestry, a monthly newsletter, e-mail news alerts, and scholarship opportunities to attend national meetings.

Forestry Club
The Forestry Club at Louisiana Tech meets with the SAF student chapter and provides a professional cadre and fellowship. Forestry Club members have planted trees, maintained pine straw areas, helped build a house, participated in research projects, and held a 3-D archery contest. The Forestry Club/SAF student chapter also participates in the annual Conclave, where forestry students from universities across the southeast compete in technical and physical forestry-related events.
