About Me
My name is Robert K. Kessler II. I am a Senior Geographic Information Science in Natural Resources major. I grew up in Central Louisiana and graduated from Pineville High School. I'm a member of the newly formed GIS Club and will be doing an internship at the Lincoln Parish GIS office during my last quarter at Tech.
Why Tech and GIS?
I decided to come to Ruston because of Tech's great academic reputation. The idea of using Global Positioning Systems and making maps on the computer is what originally drew my attention to the the GIS program. It sounded like an interesting field that would provide many different career opportunities. I declared GIS as my major and I've never looked back. I really enjoy the fact that GIS is an up-and-coming field and that my education has provided the experience I need to find a great job after graduation.

About Me
My name is David A.Lamb and I will graduate from Louisiana Tech University in May of 2009 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geographic Information Science with a concentration in Natural Resources and a minor in Geography. I am from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and I am the proud son of Bobby and Madelyn Lamb to whom I can never be grateful enough for their support and love.
Why GIS
When I started out at Tech I was actually in the Chemical Engineering Program. Though the program was excellent, I realized it was not my passion and spent a quarter trying out a few different introductory courses. One of those courses was GISC 250. The course work entailed in the class gave me an idea of the vast applications and power of GIS. That is when I decided to pursue my interest further, so I enrolled in the GIS program here at Tech. Through my university experience I learned the fundamentals of mapping, spatial analysis, geographical statistics, and geophysical analysis. When I graduate from Louisiana Tech University I hope to begin work as a GIS analyst back in my home town of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Mentor
My father, a Tech Alum, who was my inspiration to come here and receive a higher education.
