General Information:
Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity is proud to welcome its newest colony, Beta Pi Colony at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana. The group was formerly called Beta Pi Chapter of AGR. A group of the new members attended the National Convention in Breckenridge, Colorado last year, and they are excited to participate in even more AGR events in the future. Alpha Gamma Rho looks forward to seeing this colony develop and grow. Alpha Gamma Rho is the National Agricultural Fraternity with 66 Chapters. Membership exceeds 60,000 men in 50 states and 54 countries. The fraternity will eagerly await for Beta Pi Colony to achieve chapter status in the near future.

Organization Title:
Alpha Zeta
Criteria for membership:
Membership is by invitation to male or female students demonstrating superior scholarship (3.0 GPA or greater and at least 24 hours of earned credit), leadership, and dedicated service to Louisiana Tech University. Initiation is held in the Fall and Spring Quarters. New members are featured in the Alpha Zeta display case on the first floor of Reese Hall. Students must be majoring in Agricultural Business, Agricultural Education, Animal Science, Plant Science, Forestry, or Wildlife Science.
Purpose:
Alpha Zeta Fraternity was founded in 1897 at Ohio State University by Charles Burkett and John Cunningham. Alpha Zeta is a professional organization of men and women whose educational and career objectives fall within the broadly defined field of agriculture and natural resources. Tech's chapter is called Louisiana Gamma Chapter of Alpha Zeta. This fraternity's mission is to promote agriculture and recognize scholarship, leadership and character.

Block and Bridle
Criteria for membership:
Open to students from all majors throughout Louisiana Tech University.
Purpose:
To promote a general love for agriculture and Louisiana Tech University throughout the state by assisting with livestock shows, 4-H and FFA events, and other opportunities as they arise. Examples of the annual events in which the Club participates include The North Louisiana State Fair, The State Fair of Louisiana, The AG Expo Livestock Show and the Showdown at the Ike. The annual Little International is the Club's major event, featuring students who participate in an animal (beef, dairy, equine, sheep, or swine) fitting and showing contest. The show is held on the first Saturday in May and is followed that evening by an awards banquet.

Purpose:
As a premier leadership and service organization, Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA) offers personal assistance and support to members in the development of confidence and competence to go forth and impact the world in a positve manner. The letters of ESA stand for Education, Service, and Association. These aspects of membership combine to create opportunities for personal growth that far exceed those of single purpose organizations. Service to each other, to communities, and the world at large is a big part of this organization. Our major philanthropic service is raising money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital as well as Easter Seals. ESA is a powerful network that brings good people together to accomplish good things - locally, nationally, and internationally.

Purpose:
The Louisiana Tech University Equestrian Club is both a social and service organization. The club participates in regular events such as volunteering to be judges at the Holly Hills Jump Contest in the spring and fall, giving riding demonstrations to the local Girl Scouts, and raising money by selling a miniature donkey in the fall.

Forest Products Society Student Chapter
Criteria for membership:
Enrolled at Louisiana Tech and have an interest in forestry and forest products. No fees or dues are required for membership in the campus organization; however, a $25 membership fee is required annually if the student wishes to become a member of the professional society (Forest Products Society).
Purpose:
The Chapter seeks to promote a better understanding of the forest products industry among students, faculty, and the University community, while providing an atmosphere for personal growth and involvement in the profession of forest products manufacturing and utilization. The Chapter, chartered at Louisiana Tech in September, 1977, is affiliated with the Forest Products Society (FPS), an international, nonprofit educational association founded in 1947 to provide a common forum for all segments of the forest products industry. FPS encourages the development and application of new technology and provides a link for technical interchange between industry and research through the collection and dissemination of the latest technical information.

Criteria for membership:
Membership is open to students majoring in any area of human ecology/family and consumer sciences. A membership application and dues are submitted at the beginning of the fall quarter during an annual membership campaign. Students also have the option of joining the national association as well.
Purpose:
The organization serves as the "umbrella" organization for all human ecology students. The student chapter is affiliated with the Louisiana Association of Family and Consumer Sciences and the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS). The organization provides monthly meetings, fundraisers, community service projects, and other activities for its members. Criteria for membership:
Membership in the Louisiana Tech University Child Life Student Association shall be available to any student enrolled at Louisiana Tech University having designated Family and Child Studies as his or her major field of study. Additionally, membership in the association shall be available to alumni of Louisiana Tech University who have previously been a member of the Louisiana Tech University Child Life Student Association and are interested in and willing to continue supporting the goals and purposes of the association.

Purpose:
The Association is part of National Council on Family Relations, which is a non-profit educational and professional organization. Purpose:
To connect individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in the veterinary profession or other fields relating to animals. The primary purpose of the club is to help members acquire experience with animals and to develop professional associations and advice from upper classmen, club advisors, and practicing veterinarians. Club events include biannual dog dips, monthly P.U.P.S. visits to local nurisng homes, and an annual club sponsored and supported trip to a veterinary school in the United States. In addition, the club hosts veterinary dinners for local veterinarians and club members where veterinarians can complete their continuing education requirements, and where club members can develop and enhance professional relationships and communication skills necessary in the veterinary profession.
