Flight training is conducted with Louisiana Tech owned fleet of airplanes and procedure trainers. Fees are based on the complexity of the training devices and cost of fuel. The procedural training devices used for aviation instruction are the Frasca Level 6 Flight Training Device, and the AST Hawk.

The type of device used for each phase of flight training must be certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Louisiana Tech attempts to use the most effective and economical device for each flight lesson commenserate with FAA approval. Flight instructor fees for in-flight instruction are included in the hourly rate for the device fees. The additional flight instructor fees for ground instruction conducted before and after each flight are charged separately.
