All of the airplanes are owned by the University and operated exclusively for the aviation flight training programs. Airplane maintenance is accomplished through a contract with the Ruston Aviation.

COMPUTER LABORATORY

The Aviation Department has its own dedicated computer lab located in the campus aviation building with 30 computers and a computer lab located in the flight operations building with 12 computers. The computers are used by the Department for Professional Aviation courses, for student use, and for administering computerized FAA examinations.

Louisiana Tech Flight Training is conducted at the Ruston Regional Airport
RUSTON REGIONAL AIRPORT: The Ruston Regional Airport opened in 1995. It is located 3 miles east of the city of Ruston, Louisiana and has a 5,000X100 foot asphalt runway oriented 180-360 °. Coordinates are N32-30.87; W092-35.30. Navaids are MLU -117.2, 267°, 28 NM, ROQ - 368, 177°, 5.6NM. Instrument approaches are VOR/DME, NDB, GPS RNAV. Lights on request 122.7.
