Aviation Scholarships

There are a number of scholarships available to aviation students. Because of the frequent changes in the scholarship offerings, it is best to check with the Professional Aviation office regarding the current availability. The following is a partial list of some of the current scholarships Students interested in applying for a scholarship should contact the Aviation department at godom@latech.edu.

AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF AIRPORT EXECUTIVES

Offering a $1,000 scholarship for students enrolled in aviation degree programs. Applicant must be a full-time in aviation/airport management, reached Junior status, and have a 3.00 grade point average. AOPA AIR SAFETY FOUNDATION/McALLISTER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

$1,000 scholarship for students enrolled in a college level aviation program. Must be Junior status with a 3.25 grade point average. Contact Ms. Mary Ann Eiff, 314 Wildwood Lane, Lafayette, IN 47905.

AOPA AIR SAFETY FOUNDATION/DONALD BURNSIDE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

$1,000 scholarship for students enrolled in a college level aviation program. Must be Junior status with a 3.25 grade point average. Contact Ms. Mary Ann Eiff, 314 Wildwood Lane, Lafayette, IN 47905.

AVIATION DISTRIBUTORS AND MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION (ADMA)

A $750.00 scholarship awarded to an individual working towards a flight major.

AVIATION INSURANCE ASSOCIATION (AIA)

A $1,000 scholarship awarded to applicants who have completed at least 30 college credits with at least 15 in aviation.

EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT ASSOCIATION (EAA)

An $800 scholarship awarded to students in aviation.

EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT ASSOCIATION (EAA)

The Rick Leonard Memorial Scholarship. A $5,000 scholarship awarded to applicants who have demonstrated a continuing quality in personal, academic and aviation pursuits.

EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT ASSOCIATION (EAA) AVIATION FOUNDATION AND TELEDYNE CONTINENTAL MOTORS

A $500 scholarship awarded on the basis of excellence in aviation accomplishments and potent to become a professional aviator.

NATIONAL BUSINESS AIRCRAFT ASSOCIATION (NBAA)

A $1,000 scholarship awarded to an applicant enrolled in a college aviation program.

SIMUFLITE TRAINING INTERNATIONAL

SIMU-FLIGHT, INCORPORATED

$10500 Corporate airplane training scholarship for students with at least a 3.25 GPA.

One $750 scholarship awarded to a student working toward a flight major and another for a student pursuing an aviation management career.

NATIONAL AIR TRANSPORTATION ASSOCIATION FOUNDATION (NATA)

A $2500 scholarship awarded based upon the flight training record and potential to suceed, and a commitment to general aviation.

NATIONAL INTERCOLLEGIATE FLYING ASSOCIATION (NIFA) AND THE GENERAL AVIATION MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION (GAMA)

A $500 scholarship awarded to a student with at least a 3.0 GPA and enrolled in an aviation curriculum.

WOMEN IN AVIATION (WIA), INTERNATIONAL

A $500 scholarship awarded to students pursuing any type of aviation oriented career.

WOMEN MILITARY AVIATORS, INCORPORATED

A $2500 Lt. Kara Hultgreen Memorial Scholarship based upon applicants qualifications.

AIR LINE PILOTS ASSOCIATION (ALPA)

A $1200 scholarship with $300 given annually for four years of collage.

ALPHA ETA RHO AVIATION FRATERNITY

A $500 scholarship for active members of Alpha Eta Rho.

INTERNATIONAL AVIATION CAREER SCHOLARSHIP

$1200 awarded to a female pilot with commercial license and at least 250 hours who is pursuing a career as an airline pilot.
