Department Mission Statement
The professional aviation curriculum provides an accredited professional degree program in aviation. The program is intended to set a standard of excellence and to provide graduates with the skills and experience necessary to shape and lead the aviation industry in the 21century.
Department Objectives
- Prepare students to meet graduation requirements for the baccalaureate degree and with minimum preparation to be able to continue at the masters level.
- Prepare students for introductory jobs in aviation as pilots with FAA certification through the Commercial pilot certificate with multiengine and instrument ratings.
- Prepare students for introductory jobs in aviation related fields with industry, government, and the military.
- Assist in job placement.
- Prepare students to interact with real world environmental situations.
- Maintain continued communication with aviation department alumni after graduation.
- Support aviation fraternities, flight teams and other organizations
