Privacy Policy

The Louisiana Tech University Career Center recognizes and respects your rights to privacy. All policies and procedures are established to protect any information you provide to the Career Center.

Experience eRecruiting

This vendor provides the software and servers which power the on-line job listings and campus interview schedules. The system requires that students create an account, complete a profile (directory and optional information), and upload a resume. These documents will be provided to prospective employers for the purpose of employment consideration. The Career Center will not provide your resume and/or transcript to any company or agency representatives without your signature on a Records Release Authorization.

For details of the Privacy Policy for Experience eRecruiting, please access the following Web address:  http://www.erecruiting.com/experience/privacypolicy .

Internet Resources

The Career Center links the departmental Web site to other Web sites which may contain information that may be helpful to you in your job search activities.  It is important to note that the Career Center is not responsible for the privacy practices of such sites nor do we control or guarantee the accuracy of the information contained in the linked sites.  When you link to another site, you are subject to the privacy policies of that site.

Graduating Student Surveys

The Career Center attempts to obtain from graduates information which is vital for administrative reports.  Information requested includes name, address, degree, major, date of graduation, employment status and information, as well as assessment and evaluation of Career Center services.  Data are used to identify graduates who need assistance after graduation and to determine relocation trends, employers of Tech graduates, local and national salary averages, and assessment criteria.  Information is analyzed for departmental use in preparing administrative reports.  Salary information is reported, without graduate or company identifications, to the National Association of Colleges and Employers.

Privacy Policy Changes

The Career Center reserves the right to modify any part of this privacy policy statement at any time in order to adhere to privacy laws, industry standards, or departmental policies.  All changes will be posted on our Web site.  Any inquiries or questions will be handled according to the privacy statement in effect at the time of the inquiry.

Removing Your Information

The Career Center periodically sends e-mail messages concerning interview activities and special events to students who are registered in the eRecruiting system .  If you wish to be excluded from these messages, please notify the Career Center by e-mail (careercenter@latech.edu ) requesting that your e-mail address be removed.  Your name and e-mail address must be provided in your request.  If you remove your e-mail address, eRecruiting will no longer be accessible to you as it is a required field for the program.

The Career Center adheres to all student rights under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) as outlined in the Louisiana Tech University Student Handbook at FERPA (pdf format).
