The MAINFRAME is a system on which most of the Administrative data is stored for the university. However, most students will only use it if and when they decide to change their PASSWORD.
To change your PASSWORD:
Login to the MAINFRAME by double clicking the MAINFRAME icon in the STL Computer Labs
If you have not logged in before or if this is your first time logging in more than 30 days, the system will have you change your PASSWORD automatically.Follow the on screen prompts. If it has been less than 30 days since your last login, the system will not make you change your PASSWORD, but you can do so by typing in the command PASSWORD and pressing <ENTER>.
Once you change your PASSWORD it may take 24 hours before all of the systems on the university network recognize the change. During this time you may need to use varying combinations of your old and new passwords.
If you have problems:
If you have trouble logging into the MAINFRAME or changing your PASSWORD visit the Computing Center in the basement of Wyly Tower, Room 116, Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
If you are having trouble with a specific assignment on the MAINFRAME, you will need to contact your instructor.
Printouts:
If you are doing an assignment that requires a printout from the MAINFRAME, you can pick them up in the Computing Center Dispatch room in the basement of Wyly Tower, Room 155. The Dispatch room follows the same operating hours as the Computing Center.
