David L. Merchant: Continuing Education's Interim Director & Workforce Coordinator davidm@latech.edu

David provides leadership and oversight for the day to day operations within the Division of Continuing Education and Distance Learning.  He also leads the development, creation and implementation of the Professional and Workforce Development Training program.  He is further charged with ensuring that there are continuous new ideas and offerings for leisure and life-long learning initiatives in the department.  His duties include the development, implementation, and staying within the department’s budget, the development and marketing of professional, workforce, life-long, and leisure training opportunities with input sought and provided by customers, business and industry to meet their needs throughout the state of Louisiana. David is an extraordinary ambassador and liaison between the University and the community.

Jaicee provides leadership, vision and oversight for the Division of Continuing Education and Distance Learning office staff and student workforce. She is responsible for assisting in the development, creation and implementation of continuing education programs to include professional, workforce, life-long and leisure training programs.  Jaicee has overseen and assisted in the development and implementation of an extensive social networking program that has greatly impacted the marketing of all of our training programs.  She is also our administrative expert for all administrative policies and procedures. Jaicee is an extraordinary ambassador and liaison between the University and the community.
