New Officers Announced for Louisiana Tech Engineering & Science Foundation Board
The Board of Directors of Louisiana Tech's Engineering and Science Foundation has elected new officers for 2011-2012. Hilton Nicholson of Clifton Park, New York, will serve as President and Mike Pearson of Houston, Texas, will serve as Vice-President. Sandy Johnson, also of Houston, Texas, will serve as secretary and George Baldwin of Shreveport, Louisiana, will be the new treasurer.
Nicholson is the President and CEO of Sixnet, a New York-based industrial and commercial connectivity company. He is a former President of ADC's Network Solutions Business Unit. Nicholson received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana Tech and his MS in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University. He also holds an MBA from Duke.
Pearson is currently President and Chief Executive Officer of Orion Marine Group, Inc., a leading U.S. heavy civil marine construction company headquartered in Houston. He joined Orion Marine Group as President and Chief Operating Officer in March 2006. Orion is currently involved with projects on the Gulf Coast, Atlantic Seaboard, Caribbean, Pacific Northwest to Alaska.
Johnson is the President and owner of Barrios Technology, Ltd., of Houston, Texas. The company provides engineering and technical services support for NASA's human spaceflight programs. Johnson received a B.S. degree in math from Louisiana Tech and a MBA degree from the University of Houston.
Baldwin is an owner and principal in Baldwin Madden Energy, LLC, an oil and gas acquisition and development company in Shreveport, Louisiana. He received his B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana Tech in 1978 and has been named a Privileged Director of the Louisiana Tech University Foundation.
The Foundation, which was founded in 1958, works to support the activities and programs of the university's College of Engineering and Science and serves as an Advisory Committee to the Dean. It also helps to secure funds in several areas including scholarships, endowed Professorships and Chairs.
Louisiana Tech's College of Engineering and Science is a nationally recognized leader in educational innovation that strives to become "the best college in the world at integrating engineering and science in education and research." The College of Engineering and Science is one of fourteen universities nationwide to become affiliated with the Center for Advancement on Scholarship in Engineering Education (CASEE), a unit of the National Academy of Engineering.

Names New Directors and Associate Directors for the 2011-2012 Year
DALLAS, TEXAS
Jeff Brown, Vice President of Engineering and Operations for J-W Operating Co. in Dallas, has been elected to a three-year term as Director of the Louisiana Tech Engineering and Science Foundation. His B. S. degree is in Petroleum Engineering, 1985.
Bill Chew, Program Manager for Arrow Aces in Dallas, an electronics company, has been elected to a second three- year term as Director of the Louisiana Tech Engineering and Science Foundation. He has a B. S. degree in Industrial Engineering, 1987.
Thomas Muse, Co founder, Director or Executive in six development oil and gas companies, beginning with Muse, Stancil & Co., in 1984 in Dallas, has been elected to a three-year term as Director of the Louisiana Tech Engineering and Science Foundation. His B. S. Degree in Chemical Engineering is from Tech in 1959, as is his MSChE in 1965.
SARASOSTA, FLORIDA
Rick Shaw, retired Executive Vice President of Celanese and President of Global Acetyls Group and President of Chemicals America in Dallas, has been elected to a three-year term as Director of the Louisiana Tech Engineering and Science Foundation. He lives in Lakewood Ranch, FL. He has his B. S. in Chemical Engineering from Tech.
NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA
Tim Moreau, CEO and Principal Owner of EDG, Inc. in Metairie, has been elected to a three-year term as Director of the Louisiana Tech Engineering and Science Foundation. His B. S. degree is in Mechanical Engineering.
MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE
Laurie Burt Jordan, Manager of Global Labeling for Smith & Nephew in Memphis, has been elected to a three-year term as Director of the Louisiana Tech Engineering and Science Foundation. She has a B. S. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Tech in 2001 and an MBA from the University of Mississippi in 2003.
HOUSTON, TEXAS
Elizabeth Taylor, flight controller for NASA at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, has been elected to a three-year term as Director of the Louisiana Tech Engineering and Science Foundation. She has a B. S. degree in Industrial Engineering from Tech in 2001.
LAKE CHARLES, LOUISIANA
Allison Thibodeaux, Research and Development Chemist for PPG in Lake Charles, has been elected to a three-year term as Associate Director of the Louisiana Tech Engineering and Science Foundation. An Associate is one who has been out of school less than five years but has been selected to bring a younger insight to the Board. She has her B. S. degree in Chemistry from Tech IN 2007.
