FOUNDATION ELECTS NEW OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS
The Foundation elected officers for the 2006-07 term at its May 6 meeting. New Directors and Life Directors were also elected.
Deborah Wells (BmE87) is the new President; Gene Trammel (ME78) is Vice President, A.C. Hollins, Jr. (CET72) Secretary and Ron Harrell (PE57) Treasurer.
Wells is Manager of Facilities and Labs for the Bioentics Corp at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Trammel is Director of Customer Service for NetQos in Austin, Texas. Hollins has recently assumed the position of Assistant General Manager and Director of Site Operations for National Security Technologies in Las Vegas, Nevada. Harrell is CEO Emeritus and Advisor to the Board at Ryder Scott Co. Petroleum Consultants in Houston.
The seven new Directors include: Arne Aamodt (E87), NASA, Houston; Laurey Conway (IE81), Eastman Chemical, Kingsport, TN; Danny Gray (CE67), self employed consultant, Houston; Ed Hall (CHEM87), Shield Pack; West Monroe; Hilton Nicholson (EE80), ADC, Minneapolis; Bob Roddey (ChE60), Roddey Engineering, Shreveport and Deborah Richter (ChE93), ExxonMobil, Torrance, California.
Kimberly Mire McDaniel (CE03), a Traffic Engineer with Spalding, DeDecker & Associates in Rochester Hill, Michigan, was elected as an Associate Director. An Associate Director is a recent graduate intended to bring a younger insight to the Board.
Tom Singletary (Math68), a private consultant with Pacific Crest Technology in West Monroe, was elected Life Director. He is the first science graduate to be elected as a Life Director. He had just finished a regular term on the Board of Directors having served as Secretary, Vice President, President, and Past President.
Dr. Bobby Price of Ruston was also elected as a Life Director. He is not a Tech alumnus and is the first non Tech grad to be elected Life Director. He is a retired Louisiana Tech Civil Engineering faculty member and served as Faculty Representative to the Foundation longer than any other.

Fall Meeting
The 2006 Fall meeting is scheduled October 20-21. There will be an orientation session on Friday afternoon October 20 for the new Directors, which will be followed by a reception and annual awards presentation. The regular board meeting will be Saturday, October 21. The Bulldogs will play Utah State in an evening game following the meeting.
