AC or better Rule Clarification

The 2006 Louisiana Tech Catalog contains a couple of minor errors in the AC or better grade requirement for the Mechanical Engineering curriculum. The catalog omits the AC or better asterisk for MEMT 312 and 313. Note that both of these courses require a grade of AC or better as has been shown consistently on the curriculum sheets used for advising. A catalog revision has been requested to correct this inconsistency.

 Course Outcomes Assessment

All COES instructors are being encouraged to conduct end-of-quarter course outcomes assessment surveys. These course surveys are an important component of the COES Comprehensive Assessment Plan that is essential for continued accreditation. These surveys may be administered on paper or electronically using Blackboard. We ask that all students thoughtfully respond to each survey item. Generally, each survey item will ask you to realistically assess how well you believe you learned the specific topic or skill described in the survey item. This may or may not be accurately reflected in the grade you received on a particular exam, assignment or report. Be objective in your assessment of your knowledge or skills at the end of the course. Note that this survey is not used for evaluating individual instructors. It is used only to determine how much emphasis should be given to the various topics in each course across the curriculum.
