M.S. in Molecular Science and Nanotechnology::Nature of the Program
- Highly interdisciplinary, with active participation from biological sciences, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, electrical engineering and physics.
- Admission requirements: a B.S. degree in biological sciences, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, electrical engineering, or physics, or a closely related area. A GRE score is required; may be waived in the case of exceptional students.
- Curricular requirements will be flexible enough to allow students to build on their undergraduate education or to allow them to switch to other areas.
- Specifically, the curricula (Plans of Study) will allow students to undertake advanced study in an area closely related to their undergraduate major, thus strengthening their command of it, or to switch to a new area, thereby stimulating new ways of approaching and solving scientific problems.
- Students who qualify for admission to the program, but wish to enter research areas that are considerably different from their undergraduate preparation, will be required to create, in consultation with their advisory committee, a plan for remedial course work.
