Strategic Plan
The College's Strategic Plan can be divided into four areas: Undergraduate Programs (UP); Research and Economic Development (RED); Graduate Programs (GRAD); and, Communications and Resources (CORE).
Special Focus Areas 2008-2009
Undergraduate Programs (UP)
- Reintegration of the IEC (Focus on external funding, and involvement of math and science)
- Recruiting larger, more diverse student body
- Retention of students
- Evaluate proposal for new degree in energy engineering
Reseach and Economic Development (RED)
- Develop strategic plan for tripling research funding in 5 years
- Refine thrust areas for COES
- Develop and hold COES Research Symposium
Graduate Programs (GRAD)
- Revise two-year graduate course plan
- Increase enrollment in Engineering Technology Management and in Physics Masters' degrees
- Develop research advisor selection process
- Increase number of US graduate students
Communications and Resources (CORE)
- Increase # Industrial Partner/ Affiliates
- Use metrics to improve COES webpages (accuracy of info, hit rate, average time on page)
- Complete sign-on phase of capital campaign for IESE Building
- Increase endowment and discretionary income (# donors, total annual giving)
