Integrated Engineering
The Louisiana Tech College of Engineering and Science provides an integrated engineering curriculum which combines engineering, math, chemistry, and physics. This program provides:
• Better integration of courses - Students can make connections between math, chemistry, physics, and engineering.
• Collaborative learning environment - Students learn teamwork, creative problem solving, and engineering design.
• Better interaction between students and faculty - Classes use cooperative learning techniques, and faculty have moved from the traditional “chalk and talk,” teacher-centered approach to a learner-centered approach.
Goals of the Four-Year Engineering Curriculum
Freshman: To build student knowledge of basic English, mathematics, and science with a progressive introduction to engineering throughout the freshman year.
