2008 Homecoming Court
Three College of Engineering & Science students have been named to the 2008 Louisiana Tech Homecoming Court. Their involvement across the university has deepened their college experience and has given them valuable opportunities to meet other people and give back to the campus community. Congratulations to Nathan Burkhalter (senior, Mechanical Engineering), Brandon Parker (senior, Civil Engineering), and Will Smith (junior, Electrical Engineering Technology).
Tau Beta Pi Scholars
Four seniors have been awarded Tau Beta Pi scholarships for the 2008-2009 school year: Christopher Karamales (Mechanical Engineering), Michelle Sibille (Biomedical Engineering), Emile Frey (Electrical Engineering), and Daniel Lindsay (Mechanical Engineering). Tau Beta Pi is the national engineering honor society and awarded 146 scholarships to engineering students across the nation. Each scholarship is worth $2,000 and is awarded on the competitive criteria of high scholarship, campus leadership and service, and promise of future contributions to the engineering profession.

Jasmine Brown, a biomedical engineering major, was named 2007-2008 Outstanding Freshman by the National Society of Black Engineers Region V. The award is based on involvement and service to the NSBE organization during the freshman year.

2007-2008 IEEE-USA Video Competition Winners
Ben Toler (electrical engineering and physics major) and Emile Frey (electrical engineering major) created a promotional video that won the IEEE-USA 2007-2008 "How Engineers Make a World of Difference" online engineering video scholarship competition. Read more info and see their video here.
Who's Who
Five COES students have been named to LA Tech's 2008 Who's Who Among Students. These students have contributed so much during their time here; they have managed to excel in their studies while being involved in so many other areas on campus. This is a huge honor, and we appreciate their representing our College so well!
