* Originally the LALINC Task Force on Preservation and Disaster Planning
Minutes, 11 June 1999
The LALINC Task Force on Preservation and Disaster Planning held its first meeting on Friday, 11 June 1999 in the conference room, Hill Memorial Library, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Members present were:
Florence Jumonville called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m.
The group reviewed its charge from the LALINC Executive Committee. After a discussion of general preservation issues, the group decided to survey LALINC libraries to determine the present state of preservation efforts in Louisiana and determine the areas of greatest need and concern. The group then spent time suggesting questions for the survey instrument. Stephen Henson will write the questions and then send them to all members for review. Jumonville will mail the questionnaires and compile the results. The group decided that September was the best time to mail the survey. After the survey results have been compiled, the group will have a better idea of the needs that should be addressed first.
The next meeting of the task force will be scheduled after the results of the survey are compiled. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 1:00 p.m.
