B.S. in General Special Education: Mild/Moderate

Program Overview

Since the founding of the University, the education of teachers has been a primary aim of the institution. The professional teacher preparation curriculum is a carefully designed series of learning experiences that include coursework, clinical and field experiences and student teaching. Upon completion graduates are certified to teach special education in grades 1 - 5.

Bachelor of Science Curriculum

The B.S. in General Special Education: Mild/Moderate consists of a 129 semester-hour curriculum that includes (GER) general education requirement courses required by the University, content area coursework in Kinesiology, and coursework in Education required for teacher certification.

Admission Requirements

Pursuit of the Bachelor of Science in General Special Education: Mild/Moderate degree requires undergraduate admission to Louisiana Tech University. As a selective admissions university, Louisiana Tech maintains minimum requirements for admission. As these requirements vary depending upon your circumstances you should consult the Louisiana Tech University admissions website for more detailed information on admission requirements.

In addition, as part of the teaching program, you must be admitted to the teaching program in order to complete this degree program.

Transfer Credit

Graduating Students

If you plan on graduating at the conclusion of the coming quarter you must register for graduation.
