The Department of Kinesiology at Louisiana Tech University currently offers three Master of Science degrees through our graduate program. Each of these programs are uniquely designed to give our students both the theoretical content knowledge and the real world field experiences necessary to excel in their chosen specialization within the field of Kinesiology.
Adapted Physical Education
Adapted Physical Education is a program intended for persons who have already completed their undergraduate degree in Physical Education, and who may already be a physical education instructor. Generally speaking, these persons seek to work with developmentally delayed or handicapped children in a school setting. Doing so requires a unique skill-set that melds the worlds of kinesiology and education such that these persons should be able to gather and analyze accurate assessment data, develop an Individualized Education Program, and provide tailored instruction to that end.

Exercise Science
The Exercise Science program is a research-oriented program that studies the ways in which exercise and physical activity affect physical and mental health. Persons completing this field of study will have a wide-range of career options ranging from fitness instruction, physical therapy and rehabilitation, to academic research.
Sports Performance
The Sports Performance program is also a research-oriented program. However, unlike Exercise Science, which focuses more on general fitness, Sports Performance is specifically oriented at maximizing human athletic performance.
