Students who have declared majors in other areas are welcome to declare a minor in Kinesiology. Currently the Department of Kinesiology offers two minors: one in Health and one in Exercise Science.
Minor in Health
Students minoring in Exercise Science must complete a total of 23 semester-hours worth of course-work. Required courses include: Kinesiology 220, 290, 292, and 406 (11 hours). An additional 12 hours (six of which must be at the 300 or 400 level) must be taken from: Kinesiology 202, 256, 293, 300, 316, 326, 333, 350, 407, 408, 416, or 418.
Minor in Exercise Science
Students minoring in Exercise Science must complete a total of 25 semester-hours worth of course-work. Required courses include: Kinesiology 202, 326, 333, 405, 408, and 409 (13 hours). An additional 12 hours (three of which much be at the 300 or 400 level) must be taken from: Kinesiology 256, 290, 292, 293, 316, 406, 407, 414, 416, 418, or 420.
All courses applied towards the minor must be completed with a grade of "C" or higher.
