What will I do in Human Services?
Human Services is a broad and multifaceted field dedicated to the goal of meeting human needs. It is very difficult to completely categorize jobs in the Human Services sector, because there are so many different types of jobs and work that can be done within the field. You may choose to pursue a career as a community organizer, case worker or case manager, work in group homes or halfway houses, work with programs that deal with alcohol and drug abuse, family violence, aging populations, correctional centers, legal and victim assistance organizations, or youth service agencies. Other choices may include serving as administrators in assisted living facilities, public safety and disaster relief organizations, employment agencies, housing and shelter organizations or many others. Job titles can vary greatly given the many types of employment settings and the wide variety of clients.
