School Counseling Program Requirements

Students in the program must complete a total of 48 credit hours. Part of the course work includes a 100 hour practicum and a 600 hour internship in a school setting. Students are required to pass a comprehensive exam and earn a minimum score of 550 on the PRAXIS test for guidance and counseling prior to enrolling in practicum. This must be on file at the College of Graduate and Professional Studies.

During their first quarter at Louisiana Tech, School Counseling students must attend mandatory orientation.
