Tenant NFT Received SBIR Grant
March 19, 2007
Network Foundation Technologies, a tenant of Louisiana Tech Enterprise Center has just received a $100,000 Small Business Innovation Research grant from the National Science Foundation(NSF), an independent federal agency that supports fundamental research and education across all fields of science and engineering. Of 1,013 small businesses vying for coveted grants, NFT is one of 100 that received the recognition.
With the new streaming media technology, NFT delivers audio and video content providers, both large and small, new opportunities to reach large audiences at a fraction of the cost of traditional webcasting solutions.
"NFT is working to revolutionize the delivery of online video." company founder Mike O'Neal said. Mike O'Neal, an associate professor who holds the Larson Endowed Professorship and is the former chair of the computer-science, said the NSF grant serves the dual purpose of adding to the company's resume and helping pay employee salaries.
It also recognizes our company's technological successes to date and Louisiana's success in home-growing a company in the high-tech software sector, co-founder and president Marcus Morton said.
