The recent change in federal financial aid rules regarding Satisfactory Academic Progress dictates a significant adjustment in the way the financial aid office will process applications for students transferring or returning to Louisiana Tech University.
As of the 2011-2012 federal financial aid application period, the Louisiana Tech University Financial Aid Office will no longer collect copies of transcripts for evaluation. Students who apply for federal financial aid will be responsible to insure that final copies of prior school transcripts are received by the Admissions or Registrar’s offices for evaluation and posting. No federal aid will be awarded until all transcripts are received and posted to determine the students eligibility.
After all transfer work is posted, the Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress standards will be applied to the total record. The student will be removed from the suspended category if they meet standards or remain in hold / suspended until the student can bring the cumulative GPA and Pace to the requisite level to qualify. The student has the option to appeal.
Transfer / Readmit students who have not submitted all required transcripts may not appeal their suspended status.
