Louisiana Tech University provides through the regular funds accounts, a program of jobs on campus for qualified students who do not have sufficient financial need to qualify for the Federal Work Study Program. The department will pay 100% of the wages earned by the student through the department’s account. Since the program is not federally subsidized, the student employee’s earnings are limited to departmental budgets. Students are also limited to an average of 20 hours a week. Students must be eligible and have all necessary certification forms completed prior to beginning employment.
Student Employment Eligibility Rules:
- Students must be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible for student employment. Half-time enrollment is defined as 4 hours for undergraduates or 3 hours for graduates. Students who drop below half-time will no longer be eligible for student employment and must cease working.
- Students must have an overall GPA of 2.0 at time of employment. First time freshmen must have an ACT Composite score of 20 or higher at time of employment.
- Student workers will be allowed to hold only one job at a time during an academic year (ex: FWS, Graduate Assistantship, Regular Funds).
