Living-Learning Community

What an exciting time to be a First-Year student at Louisiana Tech University! You have the opportunity to become a part of the first FYE (First-Year Experience) Living-Learning Community (LLC). LLC's are residentially based programs that link academic programs and residential life through a common theme. These communities take learning outside of the classroom and into the residence hall. It promotes connections through intentional programming and academic resources. Peer mentors (upperclassmen) participate in the community through assistance with courses and hosting social events to assist peers in getting to know one another.

As a member of the freshman class living on campus, you are automatically a member of the First-Year Experience (FYE) at Louisiana Tech. However, some course linkages have specific requirements, see (*) SPECIAL RESTRICTIONS on the informational brochure on this page. Let us know you are interested and we will do the rest! The FYE program gives you a chance to get to know the campus, your professors, and your fellow neighbors. Being a part of the LLC offers unique programming and resources to help you transition to college life and become part of the Tech Family!

REGISTRATION IS CLOSED. THE LLC IS FULL.

Quotes about the program

"The LLC program teaches so much and I feel that I have transitioned better than anyone else in the country because I was not alone. You can meet so many people and have an opportunity to do things a normal First-Year Experience class would not do." - Alayshia K., Maringouin, LA

"The LLC made me feel more comfortable about coming into college and helped me learn how to make my experience on this campus easier and less hectic." - Keely Machen, West Monroe, LA

"The LLC has allowed me an experience that very few freshman have. Because of this program I have been allowed to live in some of Louisiana Tech's nicest residential facilities. I formed friendships with my peers right off the bat because I was in class with them several days a week." - Lauren H., Deberry, TX
