Summer 2011 Classes

This summer, we will offer two honors summer school classes, both in the latter half of the summer.

 

HNRS-363 – H68 TECHNICAL AND SCIENTIFIC PRESENTATIONS. Dr. Simmons

Technical and Scientific Presentations is a class many engineers and aviation majors are required to take. This class will be offered as a three week class, second summer session, from July 11th through July 29th. It will meet Monday through Friday, 9:45-12:15, in GTM 123A. PREQ: HNRS 303 or English 303. Honors students only.

HNRS-489 – H60 JANE AUSTEN IN FICTION AND FILM. Dr. Simmons

In this class we will read four of Jane Austen's most important novels -- Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Emma, and Persuasion -- and view and analyze film versions of these novels. This five-week class will run from July 11th through August 12th. It will meet Monday through Thursday afternoons from 1:15-3:15 in GTM 123A. For non-English majors or minors this could be used as a 3 hour liberal arts class or an elective.
