Summer Science Institute 2011
It's that time again! Time again to register for the Summer Science Institute. Each year, Summer Science Institute's week-long day camps give children a fun place for summer learning while giving parents a chance to take a break. This year, we feature four exciting and fun filled camps.
- Spectacular Space and Flight Explorations - Students will explore space and commercial flight. Each guest will participate in activities focused on rocketry, engineering, and related NASA content.
- Summer of Innovation - Special NASA related academic day camps for 4th-9th graders. This camp is FREE, thanks to sponsorship by NASA, but requires separate registration. Please visit the Summer of Innovation page for more information.
- Fun at Tech Farm - Students will join Louisiana Tech University staff at the Tech Farm and engage in activities from cow milking, to gardening, product tasting and more. Students will explore the science related to multiple farming disciplines and gain first hand experience in the field.
- Mind-Boggling Microscopic Mysteries - Students will utilize cutting-edge scientific tools and investigate the purpose and form of microorganisms that can be found right on the tip of a finger. Basic biological principles will be introduced through hands-on learning and exploration.
Each camp will include lots of fun activities, and will feature professional speakers from a related field. Camps will be available for two groups - one for grades K-3 and a second for grades 4-6. For additional information, you can download the 2011 brochure here.
