She earned a master's degree in education with a career and technical focus from Concordia University-Portland. She lives in the Alexandria area with her husband, Robert, and four children. Scott Longstreet (2007) graduated from the U.S. Army Basic Combat Training in November 2007 and Advanced Individual Training in February 2008 in the field of paralegal studies. He works for the Louisiana National Guard Public Affairs Office as the Unit Public Affairs Representative for both the 225th Engineer Brigade at Camp Beauregard and the 527th Engineer Battalion in Ruston.
