Michelle Reed (2002) teaches English at McNeese State University, where she received an MFA in Creative Writing and an MA in English. Four of her short stories have been published or are forthcoming in literary journals. Marc Richard (1985) is president of Fackelman News Group, Inc. and vice president and operations manager for Newspaper Service Co. Inc. These affiliated companies own, publish and manage dailies, weeklies and shoppers in Louisiana (including The Ruston Daily Leader and The Gazette in Farmerville), Texas, Virginia, Florida and Missouri. He is married to Tech alumna Crystal Stein Richard, and they have three children, Melanie, Nolan and Cayla. They live in Lynn Haven, Fla. (05.16.14)
James Richardson (1976) honorably retired from ministry in the Presbyterian Church (USA) in August. He and his wife Diane reside in Charlotte, N.C., where James is a sales associate for a local Macy’s Department store and serves as a volunteer with Crisis Assistance Ministry, an organization that assists low income households with housing and utility needs. Judith McDaniel Roberts (2005) is a journalism instructor at Louisiana Tech University and received her master's degree in mass communication at Grambling State University in July 2008. She received her Ph.D. in mass communication from The University of Southern Mississippi in 2013. She and her husband, Kyle, live in Ruston, La. Their first child, Kyla Alice Roberts, was born March 27, 2013 and weighed 6 lbs, 5 oz. with 18 1/2 inches from the tip of her toes to the crown of her brow. (07.19.13)
Kim McFarland Roberts (1989) and her husband Carey Roberts (engineering 1990) had a baby girl April 18, 2005. Isabella Rose joins her sister Victoria Mary (11) and brother Carey Ryan (7). The family resides in River Ridge, La., and Kim is vice president of Hess Marketing. (6/1/05)
Kyle Roberts (2005) is public relations coordinator at the Center for Children and Families and graduated with his master's degree in counseling and guidance from Louisiana Tech. He is currently working on his Ph.D. from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. He is the play by play voice for the Ruston High School Bearcats on Z-107.5 in the fall. Roberts placed No. 2 in Best Fact Sheet for Division I and had an honorable mention award for Best Release in the 2006 Louisiana Sports Writers Association writing contest. He and his wife, Judith, live in Ruston, L.a. Lesly Sherman Smith (1973) will give a presentation at the NARRP (National Association of Recreation Resource Planners) annual conference in Baton Rouge, April 16-20, 2012. Lesly has been the Bureau of Land Management Wyoming State Program Lead for recreation, travel and transportation, National Conservation Landscape System, Youth and Volunteers for the past four years. Her presentation will focus on Preserving Wyoming’s Landscapes for Recreation and Aesthetics through Renewable Energy Development and Best Management Practices.(04.05.12)

Lynn Beard Stewart (1970) served as The Tech Talk editor in 1968 and retired as director of public relations at Centenary College June 29, 2007, after 13.5 years at the college. Formerly she was the director of information services at Louisiana State University-Shreveport for 12 years and as a reporter, city desk editor, enterprise editor and assistant managing editor at The Shreveport Times for 11.5 years. She continues to freelance and consult on a part-time basis. (7/13/07)
Timothy Stewart (1994) is designated lead for all Hurricanes Katrina- and Rita-related public relations provided by the Head Start program of Gulf Coast Community Services Association of Houston, Texas. He plays an active role with the Texas Gulf Coast Region Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster assembly while continuing to support community outreach goals of Acadiana C.A.R.E.S. of Lafayette, La. A membership committee member of the Baytown (Texas) Downtown Association, Timothy also volunteers with the Harris County (Texas) Public Library-Freeman Branch. He sits on the board of Halloween Magic, a volunteer-based non-profit whose mission is to raise and distribute funds to non-profit organizations whose primary focus is to provide services to those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS living in the Greater Houston Area. John Sullivan (1980) is a senior reporter at the Houston bureau of the Energy Intelligence Group. He writes about natural gas developments in the Gulf of Mexico as well as drilling and E&P technology.
