Tony Taglavore (1985) recently won third-place for Best College Play-by-Play by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association. Taglavore, who is a freelance broadcaster for the Northwestern State University Demon Sports Network, was recognized for his call of the Lady Demons vs. Tennessee NCAA women's basketball tournament game. Stephanie Johnson Underwood (1982) is senior vice president and stockholder in the Philadelphia office of Tyler & Co., a healthcare executive search firm. Iantha Ussin (2002) teaches 8th grade English/Language Arts at Tubman Middle School in Augusta, GA. She is working on her master of arts in teaching at Augusta State University with plans to graduate Spring 2009. Kevin Walker (1988) writes The Rail, a column about pop culture that runs every Monday, Tuesday and Friday in the Tampa Tribune's BayLife section. He and his wife, Mary Patrick Walker (also a 1988 Tech graduate in English), recently celebrated the birth of their daughter, Sophie Elizabeth Walker, born Sept. 14, 2001. Mary is director of public relations and communications for AchieveGlobal, an international training company based in Tampa.

Col. Joe Wallace (1975) is chief of the Plans and Programs Division of the Air Force Reserve Command's 10th Air Force Headquarters at Naval Air Station, Joint Reserve Base, Fort Worth, Texas. He is a command pilot with more than 2,500 flying hours and has served as an A-10 instructor, evaluator and forward air controller pilot. His decorations include the Aerial Achievement Medal for missions during Operation Deny Flight. He lives in Azle, Texas. (2/10/03)

Paula Warren-Peace (1983) passed away Jan. 31, 2012. She earned a Ph.D. in counseling with a specialization in rehabilitation counseling and a minor in public policy and administration from Mississippi State University in 2009. She worked with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in vocational testing and evaluation for veterans with disabilities. (02.17.12)

Brenda Lee Watson (1975) is Marketing/Media Vice President for Premier Enterprises, which has divisions in real estate, nutritional products and communications. She is working on her first novel. Watson earned a master's degree in education with a distance learning emphasis from Texas A&M in 1999. Prior to forming Premier Enterprises, she was director of communications for the Texas A&M University System, which comprises nine universities, eight state agencies and a medical school. Jimmy Watson (1975) is a sports reporter for The (Shreveport) Times. Additionally, he owns and operates Joyner's Pest Control, the oldest in town and started by his wife's father, and he owns Watson Painting & Home Repairs. He is married to the former Emilane Joyner (a 1977 Tech graduate) and has three children: Tara, 27; Jared, 24; and Alanea, 18. They live in Shreveport, La. He garnered multiple awards in the 2006 Louisiana Sports Writers Association writing contest, including honorable mention for coverage of a college event and for a professional feature, first place for amateur sports coverage, and third place in the feature/column division. He also serves as bi-vocational minister of music for First Baptist Church in Homer, and is a member of the Claiborne Parish School Board. Larry White (1973) will retire as the director of corporate ticket sales at the University of Alabama on Aug. 13 after working in collegiate athletics for 33 years . He has worked closely with the athletics department's media rights holder, Crimson Tide Sports Marketing, to enhance corporate relationships. He was also active in corporate ticket sales for all sports and was the department's liaison for post-season bowl games. He lives in Northport, Ala. (07.17.09)
Thomas White (1982) is vice president at TIAA-CREF, the largest not-for-profit retirement plan provider serving the higher education, medical and non-profit markets for over 85 years. He is responsible for the marketing strategy and implementation of TIAA-CREF's individual client-facing businesses. He is married to Sara Packard White, a professional chef. (12/1/06)
Jamie Lunt Wilhelm (2003) and her husband Paul, a 2002 Tech graduate, have three children: Bryn Emilie, born Dec. 20, 2007; Colin Thomas, born December 2, 2009, and Adelyn Louise, born June 6, 2012. Jamie is the marketing manager for High Lifter Products, a company that produces aftermarket accessories for ATV and UTVS. She is responsible for composing all corporate communications from press releases to company collateral. Additionally, she is a freelance graphic designer, writer and photographer. Trey Williams (1993) is senior director of marketing at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, the largest and busiest hospital in the state. He was recently named to serve on the Board of Directors of the Public Relations Association of Louisiana's Baton Rouge Chapter and also serves on the Louisiana Tech Alumni Association Board. He and his wife Anne have two girls, 9 and 6, and live in Baton Rouge. (05.09.14)

After graduating from Tech he earned a master's degree in Biblical Studies from Wheaton College and a doctorate in the history and philosophy of education from the University of Oklahoma. Carolyn King Wood (1951) is co-owner, vice president and treasurer of Lacombe True Value Inc. in Lacombe, La. She has been in the retail hardware business since June 1968. Her husband, Jewel, and children Dale and Sherry are also part of the business. She lives in Lacombe. (2/26/07)
Justin Woodman (1994) and his wife Amy are pleased to announce the birth of their second child, a son, Wellington James, born February 24th at 9:11am at Willis Knighton-Pierremont in Shreveport. Wellington weighed 9 lbs, 4 oz and was 21 inches long upon arrival. He joins two-year-old sister, Finley Clair born September 19, 2011. Woodman is a English and Social Studies teacher at the Caddo Parish Juvenile Detention Center in Shreveport. He received a Master of Arts in Teaching from Centenary College in 2012. Leslie Martin Young (1983) retired from her position as editor of The Franklin Sun and is working alongside her husband of 26 years, Jesse Young, a 1984 Tech graduate, on the family farm in Wisner, La. They have two children: Jessica Young Handy, a senior in nursing at the University of Louisiana at Monroe; and Michael Martin Young, a sophomore at LSU in communication studies. (04.30.10)
Michael Young (1979) has been employed with Cisco since 2000, and is an 11-state Area Sales Director for Cisco Systems Capital, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cisco. In addition to his Journalism degree, Michael also received an MBA from the University of Dallas several years ago and has achieved a long career in finance and business ownership. He has lived in McKinney, Texas (a suburb of Dallas), since 1993 with his wife of 25 years, Karlin (Carey) Young, who is also a Tech grad. Michael and Karlin have two grown children, daughter Tara, a recent graduate of Baylor University, and son Ryan, a full-time student at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. (05.29.09)
