Thomas Aswell (1970) is an adjuster for the State of Louisiana. His book, "Louisiana Rocks!The True Genesis of Rock & Roll" will be published in fall 2009. For more than 25 years, he served as a reporter and editor for multiple Louisiana newspapers including The Baton Rouge Advocate, Ruston Daily Leader and Monroe News-Star. He also owned his own news service for eight years. After his discharge from the United States Air Force, he owned and coached a semi-pro baseball team, worked for a telephone company, taught defensive driving classes and has worked for the State of Louisiana, Office of Risk Management. He also worked as a stand-up comedian for the Funny Bone Comedy Club in Baton Rouge and was named the funniest person in Louisiana in 1992. He lives with his wife, Betty, in Denham Springs, La. Cathie Beck (1990) is a full-time freelance writer/editor and journalism/creative writing professor (currently on hiatus after 10 years teaching at The University of Colorado at Boulder, Metropolitan State College of Denver, and Front Range Community College). Her features have appeared in The Los Angeles Times, Vegetarian Times, Writers Digest, The Denver Post and The Rocky Mountain News, among other publications. She also writes a twice-weekly entertainment column in The Denver Daily News. Beck has published a number of short stories, and she is writing a memoir that she hopes to have published in 2004. Steven Black (1994) is store manager of the newest location of Beehive Wholesale Factory Store in Sevierville, Tenn. (near Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg). The store is a 20,000 sq. foot mix of jewelry, purses and home decor. Beehive Wholesale Factory Store is one of two stores that make up the retail division of Beehive Jewelry, which is based in Ruston, La. Beehive Jewelry was started by Tech graduates and is one of the fastest growing jewelry companies in the United States. (4/25/05)

Louis Bonnette (1963) is sports information director and senior associate athletic director at McNeese State University. Bonnette was inducted into the Southland Conference Hall of Honor on May 31, 2007, at a ceremony in Galveston, Texas and will be inducted into the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Hall of Fame June 25, 2009. He was named to McNeese's athletic Hall of Fame in September 2002. He has also been honored with two awards from the Louisiana Sports Writers Association: the Distinguished Service Award for Journalism and the Mac Russo Award. He lives in Lake Charles, La. In the 2006 Louisiana Sports Writers Association writing contest, Bonnette received second place for best release and honorable mention in the Fact Sheet category for Division 1. (06.19.09)

Curt Brandao (1990) is production editor, in charge of the night news desk, at the Honolulu Star-Bulletin. He also writes a weekly humor column, "Digital Slob" in the Sunday business section. Denise Coolman (1989) is a project coordinator and writer/editor for the LSU AgCenter. She is working with the director of the LSU AgCenter’s Road Home hurricane recovery project by assisting in creating and maintaining a project coordination system, as well as coordinating hurricane reconstruction-related efforts of field faculty and faculty in AgCenter campus departments. The Road Home program is designed to help residents of Louisiana affected by Hurricanes Katrina or Rita get back into their homes as quickly as possible.
